Childs Development

Children’s development will be followed closely through observations and assessment.

Teachers plan and implement a programme that is based on the children’s interests and abilities.

This learning and development is documenting in a variety of forms and communicated through the child’s individual profile book. The profile book will document the child’s learning journey over the duration of time spent at Sand Dunes. Samples of their work are added regularly. These may include art works, learning stories, photos, teacher reflection and 6 monthly evaluations. These books are shared with the children as well as families which are encouraged to take them home regularly.

Twice yearly Sand Dunes ELC hold parent teacher interviews. These are formal opportunities for parents and teachers to discuss a child’s progress and development.
